Ratings (out of 7):

  • Dad: 6
  • Mom: 6
  • Elyk: 5
  • ZombieFace: 6
  • Cool Man: 6

Difficulty level and why: Not hard.  it is recommended to freeze the peanut butter cups before putting them in the cookies.  It is a good idea.  But make sure they are done.  It is very hard to tell in the silicon muffin tin.

What the family thought: The family really like the cookie

What the consultant thought: Pending

Overall score: 5.8

Trail Mix Cookie

Who picked it: Dad

Why did you pick it: Good trail mix should make a good cookies.  Good trail mix means no dried fruit

Ratings (out of 7):

  • Dad 4
  • Mom 4
  • Elyk 6
  • ZombieFace 5
  • Cool Man 4

Difficulty level and why: Easy. It is a basic recipe for cookies.  The hardest part is smashing the remainder of the trail mix on the cookie.  We did use quick oats instead of the old fashion rolled oats.  Recipe said we would get a dozen cookies.  We get 27 using a medium cookie scoop.  Not sure how big their cookies were.

What the family thought: They were good, but seemed to be missing something.  We used a peanut butter trail mix and were expecting more of a peanut butter taste.  They seemed to be a little on the doughy side also.

What the consultant thought:  No one was brave enough to try them.  Their loss!

Overall score: 4.6

Who picked it: Cool Man

Why did you pick it: The cookie looked like it was sweet in the picture

Ratings (out of 7):

  • Dad - 5
  • Mom - 5
  • Elyk - 4
  • ZombieFace - 6
  • Cool Man - 7

Difficulty level and why:  These were pretty simple and straight forward to make

What the family thought: The recipe does not yield a lot of cookies.  We got 17 3" round cookies from one batch.  That was a little disappointing.  Even though the frosting did not need to be piped on, the kids were supper excited to use the piping bags.  They probably been a little better with knifed on frosting.  The kids like frosting with their cookies

What the consultant thought: The like the faces we put on the cookies

Snickerdodle party cookies

Who picked it: Dad

Link to recipe:  This one is part of a paid subscription.  You get 5 preview recipes

Why did you pick it:  It had cornflakes in it.  No guilt for having as a breakfast

Ratings (out of 7):

  • Dad 3
  • Mom 3
  • Elyk 5
  • ZombieFace 4
  • Cool Man 4

Difficulty level and why:  Easy.  The toughest part was browning the butter.  That was weird: cook the butter until it browns.  It was a little more involved than normal snickerdoodles.  You have to roll in two things.

What the family thought:  They tasted like a breakfast cereal and definitely needed milk.  It had a very strong smell that overwhelmed the house

What the consultant thought: It reminded them of fried ice cream that is crunchy and cinnamon.

The overall score is 4.1
